It’s a crazy world out there. I’m just trying to make it a little crazier. Blogging is by Vaki Zenovka, who is me, because I got here first (ha, take that!). Also because there are so few SL blogs that show that tough, butchy, androgynous, non-girly chicks can still be fashionable.
I am an attorney in real life, so sometimes I blog about law stuff. If that happens and it bores you, that is very sad. I promise there will eventually be pictures you can look at instead.
I’m not trying to be a generic fashion blogger, and this is not a catalog. There’s a whole marketplace for that. I take pictures to please myself, which means they’re usually post-processed in Photoshop or whatever, and they’re probably loaded with shadows and windlight effects, and the poses aren’t meant to show off the clothes to their best advantage (because showing off the clothes ain’t the point). I also often wear my favorite items over and over, because they’re awesome. That said, I do try to come up with some fun pictures.
Also, to paraphrase Harper Beresford, we blog to share stuff and to gain inspiration from each other. If you get stuff you like from anything I’ve posted, hey, awesome. Go forth in-world and give your lindens to the creators with my blessing; I’ve probably blogged it because I like it.
“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery – celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.”
— Jim Jarmusch (thanks, Harper)
Glad you “stole” it! 😀
Would it be ok for me to steal it too? Not for my blog, just for inspiration 🙂
I sooo love this blog. And it’s sooooo going to flatten my wallet, but I couldn’t be more delighted at the prospect of going broke. I’ve been dreading the advent of mesh because I wear men’s fashions and I’m already locked out of some wonderful creations that simply won’t fit my body. This blog gives me hope for finding women’s tailored and butch fashions.
Oh, man, I’m thrilled that you commented, Beebo. Thank you — coming from you, that’s extremely flattering, and I really appreciate it. Thank you.
