Recently, Cajsa Lillehook started a project to honor the phenomenal work of Squinternet Larnia, the mind behind Donna Flora. For those of you who live under the nearest large boulder, Donna Flora is renowned for gorgeous vintage gowns and jewelry — most of Squinternet’s work has a distinct 1920s style (ranging from the 1910s to the 1930s), but she also designs beautifully surreal gowns and hats; baroque styles; and even menswear. Her jewelry is some of the most splendid costume work on the grid.
Squinternet has had some serious health issues in that other world. She’s recovering from cancer treatment, and thus has not been able to create new stuff. At the same time, she has some big expenses relating to her recovery, and she could use our love and support. Therefore, Cajsa has sponsored the Donna Flora A to Z project, and I am more than happy to participate.
While this is certainly not my usual androgynous style, frankly, I don’t care. I’ve had this outfit for years and I absolutely love it. I always feel like a grand old dame of the cinema in it: Hepburn or Dietrich or Garbo, wearing trousers and causing a scandal. The textures are so lush and sumptuous — just looking at it, it looks like the ruffles on the shirt are three dimensional. They just look right.
Anyway. Go drop a couple lindens at Donna Flora. You’ll be glad you did.

Thank you so much, kesseret. I really appreciate that!
Stunning photos!! So beautiful.
Thank you, Cajsa, and again, thank you so much for organizing this. Squinternet’s creations help make SL so much more beautiful. I remember when I first saw her work: a woman I really admired wore a ton of Donna Flora, and she always looked so stylish, elegant, and put-together. There are so many places in SL to get clothes that make you look cheap, but a woman in Donna Flora always has a touch of class. We need Squinternet’s work in the world.
